Hiram Erwin
ERWIN, Hiram Lawrence “Hi” of Port Dover, passed away at Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 in his 87th year. Predeceased by his wife Florence (2018). Cherished father of Bonnie Luton, loving grandfather of Michelle Jones-Luton (Mike McMorrow) and Kylee Dewhirst; great-grandfather of Ashley Crawley (Dan), great-great-grandfather of Michaela and Ronan Crawley and Jax and Jesse Jr. Luton; son-in-law, Rob Jones. Dear brother of Elgin of Hamilton, Bucky of Port Dover and Jack of St. Catharines. Hiram will be sadly missed by the Walker family. Predeceased by his grandson Jesse Luton (2016), son-in-law Ron Luton (2008), brother Joe and sisters Ann, Jenny, Shirley, Vera and Elsie. Hiram was a proud union member and a 24-year employee of Ontario Hydro. In his younger years he was a commercial fisherman. He loved going to the casino (especially when he won), also enjoyed playing scratch tickets. He spent many hours at his second home, the Dover Dairy Bar. His dog Beautiful will be lost without him. Family and friends were invited to share their memories of Hiram at visitation at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519-583-1530) on Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Service to Celebrate Hiram’s life was held Friday, January 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home Chapel. The Reverend Kathryn Vance officiated. Interment Woodhouse Cemetery. Allan Milne
MILNE, W. Allan “Al” – Passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Hamilton on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (nee Smith) Milne (2014). Loving father of Scott (Phyllis) of Simcoe and Cameron (Sharon) of Welland. Lovingly remembered by his siblings Mary Fawcett (late Ralph) of Winchester, Frank Milne (late Betty) of Mountain and Doug Milne (Phyllis) of Salford. Al will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Joan Milne of Embro and Jean Milne of Mountain. Predeceased by his brothers Bob and Art Milne. Al is best known as an Industrial Arts teacher for over 30 years at Elgin Avenue Public School in Simcoe. In his retirement he enjoyed life on his hobby farm outside Port Dover and was a constant source of help and friendship to all of his farming neighbours. SINKOWSKI, Lori Janine (nee Leitch) of Port Dover passed away peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital surrounded by the love of her family on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 in her 61st year. Beloved wife of John and dear mother of Jordan Stevenson of Sarnia, Jeremy Stevenson and Darien Donnelly of St. Thomas, Carrie Sinkowski and Matt Ferguson of Port Dover and Katie Sinkowski and Brad Mitchell of Port Dover. Grammy to Abby and Lucas. Much loved sister and sister-in-law of Danny and Kim Leitch of Paris, Kim and Chris Wiley of Sarnia, Pat Sinkowski of Port Dover, Joe and Beth Sinkowski of Red Lake, Jerry and Chris Sinkowski of Port Dover, Mary and Bob Massey of Bancroft and Teresa Sinkowski and Jim Elve of Waterford. Devoted aunt of Brendan, Erin, Makenna, Micah, Jackie, Jessica, Rebecca, Arley, Lisa and Cameron. Predeceased by her parents Donald and Marian Leitch and sister-in-law, Karen Sinkowski. She was a graduate of Sarnia Central Collegiate and the University of Western Ontario. Lori has lived in Port Dover for 30 years and was the medical secretary for Dr. Weber and Dr. Tschirhart for the past 17 years. She was a volunteer for youth baseball and the Heart and Stroke Foundation in the past. She was a sports enthusiast, even learning the rules and regulations of football. She enjoyed fishing and loved all furry creatures large and small. Most of all she was dedicated to her family and will be profoundly missed by all of them. Friends were invited to share their memories of Lori at visitation on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519-583-1530). A Service to Celebrate Lori’s life was held in the funeral home Chapel on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 11 am. Cremation followed. ROBINSON, Mark Charles –Surrounded by loving family at the Norfolk General Hospital, Simcoe on Saturday, December 21, 2019 in his 68th year. Beloved husband of Cheryl Ann Robinson (nee Sherman) of Simcoe. Loving father and grandfather of Melanie Covey (Jason) of Wyecombe, their children Carter and Caliann; and Jared Robinson (Savannah Williams) of Simcoe. Cherished son of Alan Robinson (late Patricia) of Simcoe. Mark will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Julia Gut (Jerry) of Brantford, Ted (Tina) of Mississauga, Gary (Maureen) of Scarborough and Dan (Marlene) of Port Dover. Mark will be sadly missed by Cherylann’s mother Marion Sherman (late Charlie) and by her siblings Darlene and Chuck as well as by many nieces, nephews and extended family. ST. LOUIS, Joseph Mark – Passed away suddenly on Monday, December 23, 2019 in his 66th year. Beloved son of Jean, dear friend of Linda, Mark will be sadly missed by many cousins. Predeceased by his father Joseph (Ike). Mark worked many years at the Port Dover Post Office before finishing his career with the post office in Mount Hope. He enjoyed reading, stamp and coin collecting, and watching old movies. In keeping with Mark’s wishes cremation has taken place with no services.
