Anne Cornish

CORNISH, Margaret “Anne”. It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Anne Cornish of Fort Erie on December 24, 2011. Cherished sister of Elizabeth and John Blakemore of Port Dover and David and Susan Cornish of London. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her parents Florence and William Cornish of Port Dover. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Morse & Son Funeral Home, 5917 Main Street, Niagara Falls, on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated at St. John’s Evangelist Anglican Church (2428 Portage Rd., Niagara Falls) on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. A private family interment will take place at a later date in Port Dover. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John’s Evangelist Anglican Church or St. Paul’s Anglican Church (Port Dover) or the charity of your choice, would be sincerely appreciated by the family.

 

Jane Lee

LEE, Marguerite Lucinda “Jane”. The passing of Jane, beloved wife of Barry Lee of 34 years, occurred on December 23, 2011 at The Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Port Dover, Ontario on December 25, 1951 she was the daughter of the late Tom and Laura (Reichelt) Pankhurst. She is also survived by Adrian, James (Danika), and Richard; daughters Donna (Shawn), and Annette (Ryan); grandchildren Paul, Tamara, Dylan, Andrew, Julia, and Jonah; brothers Neil, and David; Sisters, Joyce, Ruth, and Lu. Jane will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Jane was also predeceased by her siblings Fred, Archie, Micky, and Perry. Jane was born in Port Dover, Ontario, and moved to Saint John with her husband in 2002. She worked at Tim Hortons – Brunswick Square. She enjoyed old country and folk music. She loved nature, especially drives in the country. Jane had a kind heart, her warmth and affection will be missed. Rested at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Monday, December 26, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. The memorial service was held on Wednesday December 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, with a reception following at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. The family would like to thank the staff at the Saint John Regional Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Mom. Les Edwards

EDWARDS, William “Les” of Port Dover, passed away peacefully at Norfolk General Hospital on Monday, December 26, 2011 in his 75th year. Dearly loved husband of Karen for 53 years. Much loved father of Sharie and loving grandfather of Emilie. He will be missed by his brother Jim and his wife Bev and brother-in-law Ross Courtnage. Les is also survived by many relatives in Ontario and Quebec. Predeceased by his parents Beatrice and Orland Edwards and sister Betty Courtnage. Les was retired after a career with the Ministry of Natural Resources. Family and friends were invited for visitation at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover (519-583-1530) on Thursday, December 29, 2011 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service was held Friday, December 30, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home Chapel. Al Wynne

WYNNE, Alan. Passed away peacefully at his home in Waterford, surrounded by the love of his family on Friday, December 23, 2011 in his 66th year. Cherished husband of Nola Burke-Wynne. Loving father and father-in-law of, Jason and Gemma and Shawn of Mississauga, Jordan and Stacey at home. Beloved son of John and Alaine Wynne of Etobicoke. Dearly loved brother and brother-in-law of Ronald and Sue of Oakville and Robert and Carmela of Burlington, John Burke, Michelle and Dennis Misuida, Carol and John Nadalin. Al was son-in-law to Edna McKersie of Port Dover and Lois Burke of St. George. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by father-in-law Brian Burke and sister-in-law Janie Burke. Al was born and raised in Toronto. He was employed in the electronic sign industry for more than 40 years. Al travelled extensively, and was privileged to have met Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and President Ronald Reagan. He was an avid sports fan, playing both hockey and baseball, also coaching his sons’ teams for many years. Al loved to play golf and spent many hours perfecting his game. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends who will cherish memories of their years together. BARTOSEK – Mrs. Jane Bartosek of Grand Valley passed away at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Friday, January 6, 2012 in her 59th year. The former Jane DeGroote. Beloved and devoted wife of John Bartosek. Loving mother of Janelle Bartosek (Brandon McDonald), Bracebridge and Jordan Bartosek, Grand Valley. Doting grandmother of Rachel McDonald. Dear sister of Archie DeGroote (Dianne) of Leamington. Predeceased by her parents Remi (1978) and Rachel (D’Hondt) DeGroote (2002) and by her brother Leon DeGroote (1996). Dora Butler

BUTLER, Dora Ethel (nee Robinson) passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at Norview Lodge, surrounded by the love of her family, in her 91st year. Predeceased by her husband Douglas (1978). Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Steven and Debbie of Port Dover and Lynne and Stephen Thurman of Fort McMurray. Cherished grandmother of seven, great-grandmother of seven and great-great-grandmother of one. Dear sister of Bertha Rainville of British Columbia. Predeceased by her daughter Gail Smith (2002), brothers, Jack and Lloyd and sisters Ruby Rugman and Alma Jobbitt. Dora was a devoted mother not only to her own, but to many that needed someone in their life. She was a longtime member of Grace United Church. Dulcie Crone

CRONE, Dulcie of Port Dover, passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in her 89th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband William. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Adrian and Marilyn of Ottawa, Jacqueline Luke and Anthony McMeekin of Port Dover, Yvonna and David Armstrong of Flamborough and David Luke of Simcoe. Loving grandmother of Stephanie, Michael, Matthew, Melanie, Christopher and James and three great grandchildren. Dearly loved sister of Ted and Edna vanDort of England. Dulcie was an active member of the Port Dover Community. She was a long time member of Silver Lake Rebekah Lodge, Branch #150, Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch # 158, a member of Grace United Church, the Church Choir and the U.C.W., a member of the Marburg Women’s Institute, and the NGH Auxiliary. Dulcie still found time to be active in the Seniors Exercise Group at St. Paul’s Church and loved her Friday card games with the Dover Dollies. Her presence at all the clubs and organizations she belonged to will be greatly missed. MANN, Ronald P. – Passed away peacefully on January 9th, 2012 in Tucson, Arizona. Mr. Ronald P. Mann of Simcoe in his 74th year. Loving father of Paula and her husband Wayne of B.C. Cherished son of the late Anne and R. Edward Mann. Dear brother to Elizabeth Ivison (Donald) of Toronto and the late Robert Mann. Ron was the President of R.E. Mann Brokers Ltd. Simcoe.
